Problem Reports and Updates - Web Team Blog - Ohlone College

Updates and information from the Web Team at Ohlone College.

Update #5 re Status of Events Calendar and other calendars server problem

This is a follow-up note regarding the status of the Events Calendar and other Ohlone calendars.

The move of the calendar software to another Ohlone server was delayed. Until an Ohlone server is available, I have temporarily moved the calendar software to my personal web hosting account.

Links to the Events Calendar and other calendars from the Ohlone College website have been changed to go to their temporary locations off the ohlone.edu domain.

If there are questions about the Events Calendar or other calendars, please contact me. Thank you!

Update #4 re Events Calendar and other calendars

I’ve downloaded VTCalendar and run the VTCalendar installation script, but the database tables were not created. It looks like PEAR isn’t installed on the server. Until the PEAR is available, getting the Events Calendar and other calendars back running is on hold.

Update #3 re Events Calendar and other calendars

This afternoon, I got access to the server on which I plan to install the VTCalendar software and database tables. Before I can go further I need a password to access MySQL and a URL to test the calendar software.

Update #2 re Events Calendar and other calendars

There’s been a delay in my getting access to the new server. I’m told it’ll be Monday, so hopefully by Monday or Tuesday next week the Calendars will be again available.

Update re Events Calendar and other calendars

Due to other priorities, the IT Department has been unable to move the calendar database and software to a different server.

As of this morning, I have obtained a copy of the database files and have been able to successfully view the information in the database files from my local computer. This is good news!

The IT Department is giving me access to the server to which the calendar will be moved and I will work on installing the calendar software and database, and then restoring the data from the old database to the new one.

NOTICE: Problem with Events Calendar and other calendars

The college-wide Events Calendar has been down for about a week now. The calendar software also runs the Transfer Center Calendar and other calendars.

The computer storing the calendar software crashed. The IT Department is moving the software to a different server, but the move isn’t completed.

I apologize for the inconvenience. An update will be sent when more information is known.

Thank you for your patience.
